Thailand 7% Tourist VAT Refund (P.P.10 Yellow Form) Step-by-Step Guide

How to qualify for Thailand's 7% VAT refund on shopping receipts of ฿2,000+, and why claims over ฿20,000 require a Customs stamp before checking bags.

Step-by-Step P.P.10 VAT Refund Process

  • Step 1 — Spend ≥ ฿2,000 in One Store on the Same Day: Look for the blue "VAT Refund for Tourists" sign at department stores (Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, ICONSIAM, EmQuartier, Central Phuket) and present your passport (or passport photo) at the Customer Service counter on the same day to receive a yellow P.P.10 form attached to your original tax invoice.
  • Step 2 — Total Claim ≥ ฿20,000? Visit Customs BEFORE Check-In: If your combined P.P.10 purchases across your trip equal or exceed ฿20,000, you must show the goods and get your P.P.10 stamped at the Thai Customs VAT Refund inspection desk in the main departure hall before checking your suitcases. (If your total purchases are between ฿2,000 and ฿19,999 and include no luxury goods over ฿40,000, you can skip the landside customs desk and go straight through security.)
  • Step 3 — Collect Your Refund Airside: After passport control, stop at the VAT Refund for Tourists counter to collect your refund in Thai Baht cash (for refunds up to ฿30,000) or credit card transfer.
